For you guys who drives and lazy to hold the petrol nozzle.
Please take note.......
A reminder to hold the petrol nozzle at all times.
You guys don't be lazy. Always hold onto the nozzle while filling up.
A friend of mine stopped for petrol somewhere at the Lingkaran Tengah Highway near Gombak a little over two weeks ago.
This was the first time he patronized that station. As his normal practice elsewhere, he put the nozzle on automatic and stood nearby waiting for his car to be filled up.
Suddenly the nozzle flew out of the gas tank opening with petrol spewing
out at high speed.
He was sprayed with petrol all over, including his face and eyes (just
imagine the pain in his eyes). His companion quickly brought him to him toilet to wash his face. After that they reported the incident to the staff and asked to speak to the manager.
The manager refused to see them. He only instructed the staff to take my friend to the hospital.
According to the staff that was not the first time the nozzle came out of the tank while customers are filling up petrol. But my friend's incident was the worst.
The top layer of his right eye was damaged and the area around his eyes suffered burns and had to be bandaged for 10 days. He was lucky that his eyesight was not affected.
Apparently the nozzle was lighter than normal and the speed of the petrol created a backward thrust that pushed the nozzle out of the tank.
There you go, be careful.

Be aware of your surroundings
Yet another close call....
Just sharing what happened around 6.45 am today (6-3-07) to my neighbour. She was driving out of her car porch for her daily routine of sending kids to school. Once she was out of her driveway and when about to go , 4 men on 2bikes passed by her car and these 2 bikes suddenly made a U turn and went to her direction with one of them holding a parang.
Apart from the minor shock, no untoward incident happened because she was very smart as she:
1)had locked all doors BEFORE she left her porch. Some cars have autolock when the brakes are depressed.
2)honked like crazy to attract attention when she saw the weapon thus causing the would be's to move on.
My reminder to others is also when returning to your house esp at night, do look out for suspicios would be's on bikes trailing you WITHOUT their bike lights on. Make a turn, by all means make hell of a many turns around your house if you feel that you are being trailed.
You have heard the saying before, prevention is better than cure.....
Take care Johannians

The passing of Johannian Ho Mun Yee(5Arts 2)

HI Johannians,
No too long after I posted my New Year message, I was told by Mike Pong, Loh Chee Keong and Mak Yee Hong that Mr. Kelvin Ho Mun Yee (5A2) passed away early this morning on New Year's Day after complaining of chest pains and was admitted to a hospital.
This is indeed a very sad start to the new year BUT it is also another wakeup call to buck up on our health.
The wake will be held at the PJ Crematorium, Jalan 222, P.Jaya until 03-01-2007.
God Bless and May You Rest In Forever Peace, Mun Yee - Edward Chan.
Below are shots taken when some of us went to his wake. Clicking on the images enlarges them.

Heard from close friends that days before Kelvin's departure, he was suffering from typhoid fever and weeks before that he was advising some friends to cut down on unhealthy habits like drinking and smoking.I suspect that he may be suffering from something but did not open it for discussion with anyone.
In any case I would like to share my experience on a lady sinseh who treats Typhoid Fever ala Eastern style. She is known as Madam Wong Ngoi Kiew and the clinic cum her house is situated in Taman Pertama, Cheras. She could be contacted at 03-92859686.
This is just from my experience with my kids who got treated by her and by no means is a definitive guide to go for eastern methods. Seeing a doctor of your choice is still a priority for any sickness. Take care everyone
Happy New Year Two007
